Daniel Bennett*, Associate

Daniel Bennett is an associate with Brake Hughes Bellermann LLP. Mr. Bennett's practice focuses on the representation of high-technology clients in connection with strategic patent counseling and prosecution.

Mr. Bennett focuses on the representation of various clients in connection with patent prosecution in the electrical, biomedical, and chemical fields. His expertise in these fields includes, for example, telecommunications, software technologies, microprocessor architectures, optics, cloud computing, semiconductor processing, battery chemistries, catalysis, fluid physics, endoscopic devices, laser fibers, and surgical implants.

Prior to joining Brake Hughes Bellermann LLP, Mr. Bennett spent almost five years working for Cooley Godward Kronish LLP. While at Cooley, Mr. Bennett's practice focused on strategic patent counseling, prosecution, and patent litigation. Mr. Bennett also worked as a characterization engineer at IBM's Microelectronics facility in Burlington, Vermont for three years. He has published several technical articles in the chemical and electrical fields. Mr. Bennett received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2007. He is a member of the Order of the Coif. He interned for the Honorable Marian B. Horn on the United States Court of Federal Claims and was a staff member of the American Intellectual Property Quarterly Journal while in law school. He earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering (1999) and an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (2001) from Brigham Young University. Prior to completing his undergraduate studies, Mr. Bennett lived in Japan for nearly two years, where he became proficient in Japanese.

Mr. Bennett is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and is a member of the bar of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
